If you end up going the rail gun route - use 350s over 425s. They track better, so over the entire L4 mission they will do better damage. 425s do great on BS, but damage drops off as the targets get smaller. The moral of the story is that 350s do better damage overall due to better tracking when you look at the whole mission. 425s do better 'on paper' damage which doesn't work out when you are shooting at things that are moving. The discrepancy between paper and actual DPS gets smaller as your support skills get better.
Using 350s also frees up a ton of grid/cpu so that you can do some spectacular things in your mids and lows.
As a general rule, when asking for fitting advice on the forums - you tend to get max/min eft fitting 'experts'. I'm not commenting on the 2 fits linked above, but in general many of the max/min fits are teh suxors once you get them out of EFT and into a mission.
Also keep in mind that the performance of the ship varies greatly based on skills. Support skills included. When using guns, look at those gunner skills that support your guns. Their bonus to your weapons adds up.
The real proof for you on the 350s vs 425s argument is easy to solve. Run a couple of missions with each. It will be obvious to you which you prefer. The guns are relatively cheap and you can sell the ones you decide not to use. This goes for a lot of fitting advice. When given several options - try them. Fitting has a lot to do with play style, so an optimal fitting is relative at best. There is not single fit that is right. |

The rokh seems like it would be a pretty good mission boat. You're not worried about scrams and whatnot, so I think you could mount a sizeable tank (which I'm assuming is your epic ark issue?? - never ran one) and use the lows for damage enhancement (mag stabs and tracking stuff) and maybe a cap mod or 2 if you need them.
As someone who ganks mission runners for a week or so every year or two (it's a corp team building thing we do from time to time), your hyperion would end up on the 'gank this' side of the ledger with all that bling. Be careful when you load a mission ship up to this extent for empire pve. If you want some be careful tips, send me a mail. I'm not inclined to help the entire eve community spoil my corp's team building!
Mission runner ganking is all about the math. I don't know where you are at as far as skill points, but the more skilled you are the better it is to move to T2 mods or even to cheaper passive armor resist mods (not the eanm ones - they are pricey). Armor comp skills make cheap faction passive mods a really good deal. If you over bling you're just asking to be harvested for sweet loots. Always remember you're not playing space WOW - someone will pee down your air hose if you make it worth their time. |

Serendipity, don't forget that you can use grapplers in missions too. You can use them for small ships for great effect.
The Hyperion with the 5 mids can use a web and a grappler for orbiting frigates and has a generous dronebay.
That's a great point. Grapplers didn't exist the last time I ran a mission. |
